Q. my mother lives in florida, she has a home for sale, the agent gets 3000.00 for his fee, she had a contract with a thousand dollar binder on the contract, the day before signing the couple backed out, but the agent says he gets the money and not my mother , is this true
A. Check the language in the contract she signed. Any disbursement of funds due to ‘default’ will be spelled out in that contract. If there was no contract, then there probably is nothing to pursue. If there are doubts, contact a Real Estate Attorney for legal clarification. At the very least, have a talk with the Broker / Owner of the Real Estate firm.
