• Contractor and income

In order to be classified as an independent contractor, how much of an individual’s income must come from commissions?

I don’t believe there are income guidelines to establish being an ‘independent contractor’. It is sort of like if you were a builder, had a builders license but built no houses. Just because you had no income wouldn’t mean you weren’t a builder, just not a good or profitable one. To make 100% sure, check with your tax consultant.
